Droutsas: Our red lines are known

The will and the wish to overcome the name dispute, and also our red line regarding this issue is known, Greek Alternate Foreign Minister Dimtris Droutsas said on Tuesday. He made the remarks in Washington after the meeting with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at the start of his US trip.

"This was an excellent opportunity to reiterate our stands on the issue which is of high significance to Greece’s interests. As regards the Cyprus issue, we are witnessing an important phase. As regards Turkey, our efforts for a new approach and cooperation are known. As regards the FYROM name issue, Greek will and pledge for resolution is known, and the red line is also known. It is also important that the United States knows our stands on these issues in order to get familiar with our approach to these issues, in the framework cooperation between the two countries, cooperation on equitable basis between two allies and partners," Droutsas said after the meeting with Clinton.

Droutsas kicked off a visit to the United States on Tuesday. On Thursday, Droutsas will meet with the UN Secretary General Bank ki-Moon.
