of Immigrants of Macedonia
CONVINCED that after seven years of court
proceedings, and the restitution of property in 2006, new circumstances
emerged to resume the activities of the House of Immigrants of Macedonia
and to realize its place, role and function in the social-political
system of Republic of Macedonia;
WITH THE PURPOSE TO retain the spirit and tradition
of House of Immigrants of Macedonia as a specific institution of particular
country and national concern;
CONFIDENT that the House of Immigrants of Macedonia,
with its organizational structure, and the activity techniques and contents,
will gradually transform into a modern institution, in accordance with
the European and International standards that are vital in terms of
relation and communication establishment in the immigrants’ sphere in
the world;
BELIEVING that Republic of Macedonia will conform to
the Macedonian immigrants’ needs and requests, as well as to the structural
alterations (in terms of education, intellectual changes and status)
that have occurred among our immigrants in the last few years, referring
to the attitude that young generations from the Diaspora have towards
their fathers and grandfathers land, towards the language and their
roots culture and national identity in general;
EXPECTING that the House of Immigrants of Macedonia
will continue to work on stabilization and growth of its position as
indispensable and crucial institution in the life and pulsing of Republic
of Macedonia and the Macedonian Immigrants around the world; through
quality contact and communication between the home country and the Macedonian
Diaspora;
On the grounds of Article 20 from the Statute of the House
of Immigrants of Macedonia, no. 08-472 from February 25, 2006, the Assembly
of the House of Immigrants of Macedonia at a session held on November
15, 2006 in Skopje, brought
PROGRAM
of working activities of the House of Immigrants of Macedonia
for year 2007
(1) Daily operative activities will continue at the
House of Immigrants of Macedonia (hereinafter: The House of Immigrants)
in order to provide constant contact and communication with the Macedonian
citizens living in the world.
(2)The public will continue to be constantly and abundantly
informed about House of Immigrants activities.
(3) Several commissions will be formed as auxiliary bodies
of the House of Immigrants Executive Board, more specifically; a new practice
will be introduced in the House of Immigrants policy building, with participation
of more experts from particular fields of the social life of Macedonia
and the Immigration.
(4) There will be a constant synchronization between
the normative acts and the House of Immigrants organizational structure
with the most recent legal regulative.
(5) The House of Immigrants will attend to the Macedonians
in the neighboring countries and will assist their relation with the Macedonian
state.
(6) Cooperation between House of Immigrants and Macedonian
Orthodox Church is of utmost meaning in national and strategic determinations
realization regarding the Immigrants. House of Immigrants will tend to
toughen the relation among the country, Macedonian Orthodox Church and
the House of Immigrants, in the spirit of principle and democratic atmosphere
of understanding and mutual respect.
(7) Macedonian Immigrant Committee will be constituted
within the House of Immigrants that will discuss various existing immigrant
issues, like donating and sponsorship, cooperation with Macedonians in
neighboring countries and provision of material support for their activities,
as well as their coordinative acting in cooperation with the House of
Immigrants. Macedonian Immigrant Committee members, following previously
determined criteria, will be elected from Macedonians in Canada, USA,
Australia and Europe, who will support Macedonian formation of unions
as coordinative-consulting bodies of the Macedonian communities in these
countries.
(8) We will organize meetings with eminent professionals
in the field of information in the Diaspora; also attention will be given
to the quality of the textbooks used to teach Macedonian aboard.
(9) House of Immigrants will be vigorously involved in
all national manifestations in Republic of Macedonia and among the Macedonians
in the world.
(10) In the filed of informative-publishing activity,
House of Immigrants will revitalize the illustrated magazine “Macedonia”
with qualitatively improved concept. Among other things, the magazine
will contain texts in languages from countries mostly populated with our
immigrants. The magazine will employ immigrant reporters, and will bel
be distributed around all newsagents in Macedonia. With the publishing
activity House of Immigrants will make an attempt to draw the attention
of Macedonian literature authors from the Diaspora.
(11) House of Immigrants will initiate appropriate presence
of the immigrants in Macedonian museums as unavoidable part of the Macedonian
history. In cooperation with Macedonian museums and the House of Immigrant’s
societies around Macedonia, a separate museum exhibition display will
be initiated.
(12) House of Immigrants will restore and strengthen
connections with the existing societies of the House of Immigrants in
Macedonia and their cooperation with the central management. Also, this
kind of societies will be founded in Eastern Macedonia.
(13) As part of the House of Immigrants’ societies, Youth
Committees will be founded following the example of House of Immigrants’
Youth Committee.
(14) Ambassador meetings will be initiated from the countries
with highest numbers of Macedonian immigrants.
(15) Relation will be established between the House of
Immigrants and similar European institutions.
(16) During the summer season, when Republic of Macedonia
is visited by large number of immigrants; House of Immigrants will print
out a booklet consisting of information essential for the immigrants including
the House of immigrants society’s addresses. These booklets will be distributed
to all state entrances in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs
and the customs.
(17) House of Immigrants will organize a manifestation
- “Days of Immigrants of Macedonia” with ambition to become traditional
manifestation ". ““Days of Immigrants of Macedonia” will be held
in Otesevo every last Thursday in July.”
(18) House of Immigrants will actualize the Macedonian
TV Program Satelite Broadcasting issue in accordance with Macedonian requests
in the world.
(19) House of Immigrants’ Youth Committee will start
different forms of cooperation between young people from the Diaspora
and young people in Macedonia.
(19.1) Developing and maintaining the existing as well
as establishing new contacts with the young people in Diaspora.
(19.2) Broadening of the web site contents with information
of various parts of the life of young people in Macedonia (education,
culture, entertainment, sports, music and other). These contents will
be expressed through pictures, text, music and film. On the web site “Actual”
each month people can find the latest events in lives of the young people
of Macedonia as well as information on the Committee activities.
(19.3) Entire web site content will be elaborated by
the Youth Committee members.
(19.4) Youth page organization within the magazine “Macedonia”
which will be covered by young immigrants dealing or having future plans
on dealing with journalism.
(19.5) Mediating and assisting in establishing immediate
contacts between students from related faculties to exchange knowledge,
experiences, information.
(19.6) Organization of “Macedonian Youth Camp” that would
grow into a traditional gathering for the Diaspora Macedonian Youth organizations
in future. At the same time, the camp will be open for any young Macedonian
with a desire to participate. This event would last 1-2 weeks and will
include visit to historical sites, concerts, theatre performances and
other entertainment and recreational places.The unique camp motto will
be: “Let’s be friends – We are all from Macedonia after all”.
(19.7) Collaboration with various youth (student) organizations
from Macedonia.
(19.8) Cooperation with Republic of Macedonia’s Youth
Committee.
(20) House of Immigrants will continue to complete its
technical equipment as well as strengthening the professional personnel
activities analytical component.
(21) House of Immigrants will undertake activities to
organize “Days of Macedonian Culture”, happening once a year on different
continents. Participants at this manifestation would be established authors
from Republic of Macedonia, together with Macedonian authors and writers
living outside of Republic of Macedonia.
(22) Within the summer activities we expect guests from
the cultural artistic societies from Sweden, Republic of Croatia and Republic
of Slovenia.
(23) At the International Macedonian Language and Culture
Seminar apart from participants from the neighboring countries (Republic
of Albania, Republic of Bulgaria and Republic of Greece) we expect participants
- students of Macedonian origin from the University in Melbourne and other
university centers which have students of Macedonian origin.
(24) At the Struga Poetry Evenings, Macedonian poets
from the Diaspora will be invited, like members of literary societies
as well as individuals, who according to the adopted criteria, will equally
compete for the “Immigrant award”. The poets, will also present themselves
at the immigrants meetings in Resen, Bitola, Ohrid and Struga, and for
the first time they will present their works at the restored “Days of
Immigrants of Macedonia”, which should be promoted at the end of July
in Prespa, Oteshevo.
(25) The personal contacts and the presence of House
of Immigrants delegations in immigrant regions is irreplaceable approach
to the implementation of the immigrant cooperation program goals. That
is why a need is imposed that delegations of House of Immigrants are present
in the countries where Macedonians live, countries like Western Europe,
Australia, USA and Canada.
(26) House of Immigrants will attend to Macedonians from
the neighboring countries. A need is enforced for House of Immigrant’s
visits to these regions with the purpose to acquire exhaustive information
on immigrants’ conditions and their needs and activities.
(27) Special obligation of the House of Immigrants will
be taking care of admission of Macedonian students from neighboring countries
at the Macedonian educational institutions. This involves scholarship
elections as well as help in choosing the appropriate faculties. Also,
an action will be followed to send teaching personnel from Macedonia into
Macedonian schools around the world.
(28) Considering the opportunities, there will be initiative
that the Macedonian students in the neighboring countries at the universities
in Macedonia specialize on the human rights and freedoms issues.
(29) House of Immigrants will realize meetings and contacts
with board managements of children refugees from Australia, USA, Canada
and Eastern European countries.
(30) House of Immigrants will create its own web site
www.maticanaiselenici.com.
(31) This program enters into force as of the day of
its making.
(32) Copies of this program will be submitted to: the
archive of the House of Immigrants, Macedonian Government, Macedonian
Assembly and the Ministry of Finance of Republic of Macedonia.
